OPEN CALL PC24

This is an opportunity for artists to participate in the PC24 summer exhibition, with the theme of "REPETITION" as the central focus. Artists are encouraged to explore the concept of repetition in nature and how human intervention disrupts and transforms natural patterns into an ordered repetition of its own.

Interpretation: The theme of repetition is open to various interpretations. Artists are encouraged to explore how repetition exists in nature and is also altered by human interference, often leading to a sterile and ordered repetition of its own making.

Types of Submissions: Submissions are welcome from a wide range of creative disciplines, including artists, sculptors, photographers, graphic designers, musicians, performers, and writers/storytellers.

The National Forest: The National Forest is an evolving landscape that stretches for over 200 square miles across parts of Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire with a population of 200,000. Burton & South Derbyshire College is located to the north of the Forest where mining and extraction previously scarred much of the land, although the landscape and communities are varied. The long term 'Forest in the Making' regeneration and landscape project has trebled forest cover from 6% to 20% in the last 30 years. As an evolving place, it encompasses stories about the land, textures of a changing landscape and the life and work of its people, it's buildings and its economies.

SUBMISSION PROCESS: Submissions should be emailed to photocanopy.nationalforest@gmail.com and be accompanied by your name and title of the work. Additionally artists are asked to provide a statement of no more than 600 words explaining their work and how it relates to the theme of Repetition.
